Abstract:
A process for producing a honeycomb structure, which comprises the steps of: placing a mask (200a) which comprises a mask part (270b) and multiple openings (270a) on an edge surface of a cylindrical body (70) which has multiple through-holes (70a) formed therein so that the some of the through-holes (70a) can be covered with the mask part (270b), wherein the edge surface has the through-holes (70a) formed therein; coating the mask (200a) that has been placed on the edge surface with a slurry-like sealing material (304); and pressing a blade (300) against the sealing material (304) that has been applied on the mask (200a) and moving the blade (300) in a direction that is almost parallel with the surface of the mask (200a).
