Abstract:
Disclosed are: a process for producing a magnetic thin film having an insulating property, capable of acting as a permanent magnet, and capable of exhibiting improved remanent magnetization compared to the conventional magnetic thin films; a magnetic thin film; and a magnetic material.
Specifically disclosed are: a process for producing a magnetic thin film (3), which comprises applying an external magnetic field having a predetermined intensity to a coating solution containing magnetic particles each of which comprises an epsilon-type iron oxide compound having an insulating property and capable of acting as a permanent magnet, and solidifying the coating solution, thereby forming the magnetic thin film (3), wherein the coating solution can be solidified so that the magnetic particles each comprising the epsilon-type iron oxide compound can be oriented regularly in the direction of magnetization, and wherein the magnetic thin film (3) produced by the process has an insulating property, can act as a permanent magnet, and can exhibit improved remanent magnetization compared to the conventional magnetic thin films; the magnetic thin film (3); and a magnetic material (1).
