Abstract:

A process for producing a modified thermoplastic resin by modifying a thermoplastic resin in a molten state, wherein carbon dioxide is used as the reaction medium in an amount of 2 to 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the starting thermoplastic resin. According to this process, the reaction efficiency and the reaction uniformity can be remarkably enhanced without using an organic solvent and modified thermoplastic resins remarkably lowered in the content of unreacted components can be easily and efficiently obtained at a low cost.
