Abstract:
A process for the production of molds by using a conjugate body constituted of
Cr-containing steel members joined to each other, which comprises the conjugate
body preparation step (S110) of preparing a conjugate body constituted of Cr-containing
steel members joined to each other, the quenching step (S130) of quenching the
conjugate body, and the heat-resistant metal structure formation step (S140)
of heating the conjugate body to a prescribed temperature to convert previously
the metal structure of the body into a metal structure capable of withstanding
molding temperature, in this order. The process can give molds having improved
endurance.
