PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF PHOTOSEMICONDUCTOR PARTICLES

Photosemiconductor particles which each consist of a base made of a metal compound photosemiconductor and a ceramic fixed on at least part of the surface of the base wherein the ceramic is a compound different from the base; and a process for the production of the photosemiconductor particles which comprises the following steps (A) to (D): the step (A) of mixing the base with the ceramic or a raw material thereof and a water-containing solvent to prepare a mixed fluid containing both the base bearing the ceramic or a precursor thereof in a state fixed on at least part of the surface thereof and water; the step (B) of adding a coagulant to the mixed fluid and stirring the resulting fluid to form a solid matter which contains the base bearing the ceramic or a precursor thereof in a state fixed on at least part of the surface thereof and the coagulant; the step (C) of separating the solid matter from the water-containing solvent; and the step (D) of heating the solid matter to remove the coagulant through decomposition and thus obtain photosemiconductor particles.
