Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel process for producing a 3-haloalkyl-2-halogenopyrazine derivative which is useful as an intermediate for the production of pharmaceutical agents, agrichemicals and others. Specifically disclosed is a process for producing a 3-haloalkyl-2-halogenopyrazine derivative represented by general formula (IV), which is characterized by: reacting an epoxy derivative represented by general formula (II) with 1,2-ethylenediamine or an acid salt thereof to produce a dihydropyrazinone derivative represented by general formula (I); converting the dihydropyrazinone derivative (I) into a hydroxypyrazine derivative represented by general formula (III) by dehydrogenation or oxidation; and halogenating the hydroxypyrazine derivative (III).
