Abstract:
A process for the production of thermoplastic resin microporous membranes by
using, as part of the raw material, scrap film which is generated in producing
thermoplastic resin microporous membranes by using a thermoplastic resin and
a solvent for film formation and which comprises the thermoplastic resin and
the solvent as the main components, which process comprises melt-kneading a
virgin thermoplastic resin and a virgin solvent for film formation together
in an extruder to prepare a virgin raw material solution, feeding the above scrap
film generated in the same or different production process into the extruder
at a point of the extruder, melt-extruding the virgin raw material solution and
the scrap film together in the extruder to prepare a thermoplastic resin solution,
extruding the resin solution through a die, cooling the extrudate to form a gel-like
sheet, and removing the solvent from the gel-like sheet.
