Abstract:
The present invention provides a process of purifying methionine. The process uses a macroporous adsorption resin to separate methionine and a byproduct salt, and can obtain a methionine product having a purity ≥ 99％ via adsorption and desorption processes. The byproduct salt has a methionine content ≤ 0.03％. The yield of extracting methionine with the resin is ≥ 98％. The method of the present invention can be used to simplify the existing manufacturing processes, increase the quality of a methionine product and reduces the manufacturing cost of methionine.
