Title:
PROCESS FOR REGENERATING SECONDARY TEXTILE MATERIALS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/020975
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The proposed method relates to the textile industry, more specifically to methods of regenerating secondary textile materials such as worn sacking. The proposed method widens the raw material base by shredding used sacking while preserving the long regenerated fibre. The method involves the following steps: the pre-treated and cleaned raw material is cut into shreds while being displaced continuously beneath the blades of a guillotine-type cutting machine; the rags are further shredded into individual scraps and then again into threads and fibres before being combed on combing machines during which operation the worn sacking is cut transversely into strips by guillotine-type blades. The movement of the strip is then adjusted to carry it to a conveyor aligned at 90 degrees to the first conveyor. The strip as it moves changes position from longitudinal to transverse and is then cut again, this time into shreds, by a guillotine-type blade. The shredding process is carried out in a cylindrical chamber provided with decks and using a rotating shaft on which are mounted flat blades and hammers so as to pivot.
