Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for synthesizing 1-methyl-2-oxo-3,6,7-trioxabicyclo[2,2,2]octane. The process uses pyruvic acid and glycerol as raw materials, p-toluene sulfonic acid as a catalyst, and dichloromethane as a water-carrying agent, and an esterification synthesis thereof is performed under a condition of 0°C-80°C. The amount of glycerol used is 1 to 10 times the molar weight of the pyruvic acid, and the amount of the catalyst used is 0.1% to 20% of the total weight of the materials.
