Description:
A process of uninterrupted heat treatment of paste and

an apparatus for carrying out said process

The present invention refers to a process of uninterrupted heat treatment of paste, in particular liquid paste, and preferably pancake paste, said paste being dispensed onto at least one moveable heating element being capable of emitting heat, and to an apparatus for carrying out said process.

Aforementioned apparatuses for uninterrupted heat treatment of paste, in particular pancakes, are generally known. A publication No. WO 03043424 Al of an international patent application, for instance, discloses a pair of counter-rotatably and thermally conductive belts. The liquid batter is dispensed in a limited range, resembling a shape of a flat disc for example, onto the lower belt where said batter is heated from the lower side, and simultaneously said paste moves under the upper belt by means of which said batter is heated from the above. Furthermore, a solution is known from a publication No. WO 8702866 Al of an international patent application comprising a heated drum, the pancake paste being deposited onto said roll which in turn bakes only one side of a pancake. Afterwards, said pancake is detached by a scraper from said drum and put onto a heating platen and rolled up.

The above disclosed solutions provide for to bake only single pancake. The baking is carried out either on one side of the pancake and afterwards the pancake is transmitted to a flat surface where it is baked on the other side, or on both sides utilising a pair of heating plates. This way, air is trapped in the paste resulting in uncontrolled eruption thereof through the surface already baked thus, leaving unattractive surface of the pancake. Trapped air erupts also through the side surface of the pancake, resulting in contamination with the paste of the surrounding of the apparatus and an uneven outline of pancake.

It is the object of the present invention to create a process of uninterrupted heat treatment of paste, in particular liquid paste, and preferably pancake paste, in order to remedy drawbacks of the known solutions.

Another object of the present invention is to create an apparatus for uninterrupted heat treatment of paste, in particular liquid paste, and preferably pancake paste. According to the present invention, a process of uninterrupted heat treatment of paste is based on an uninterrupted dispensing of the liquid paste from a container into a dispensing tank by means of which said paste being evenly distributed over the entire length of an upper heating drum. Said upper heating drum being rotated with such a speed that said paste to be baked, is baked as required when said upper heating drum rotates for approximately a half a turn.

In the area of the lowermost point of said upper heating drum there is arranged a first scrapper which removes from said upper heating drum the paste baked on one side, and afterwards said paste drops onto a lower heating drum in the area of the uppermost point thereof where said paste is baked on the other side thereof. The paste is fully baked when said lower heating drum rotates for approximately a half a turn. In the area of the lowermost point of said lower heating drum there is arranged a second scrapper which removes from said lower heating drum said fully baked paste. The latter drops afterwards onto a conveyor arranged in the area directly under said lower heating drum, and afterwards said fully baked paste which has the form of uninterrupted belt is cut or optionally rolled and stored in a box.

The present invention will become more readily understood in the light of the ensuing description of preferred embodiment thereof, given by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawing wherein Fig. 1 illustrates an apparatus for an uninterrupted treatment of the paste.

An apparatus for uninterrupted heat treatment of the paste, according to the present invention, comprises a pair of horizontally arranged heating drums 1, 2 being mutually parallel and mutually spaced in horizontal and vertical direction, said drums being intended for heat treatment of the paste to be baked. Here, said heating drums 1, 2, which are counter-rotatable about the longitudinal axis thereof, are formed in a manner that they can be mutually moved either closer or apart in both horizontal and vertical plane. The surface of each said heating drums 1, 2 which, in turn, can be smooth or embossed, are heated in a manner known per se and not shown, for example by means of gas, electricity or similar.

Furthermore, said apparatus comprises a container 3 for the liquid paste with a stirring means 4 which stirs, form time to time, said paste preventing the latter to harden and deposit, respectively. Said liquid paste is transported by means of a pump 5 from said container 3 in a manner known per se into a dispensing tank 6 being located in the vicinity of the uppermost point of the first heating drum 1, that is the upper heating drum. Said dispensing tank 6 extends preferably over the entire length of said upper heating drum 1. In order to distribute said paste evenly, particularly when thicker paste is used, said dispensing tank 6 is provided with a vibrating device 7 which, either by intermittent or constant vibrations, enables easier and faster paste distribution over the heating drum 1.

A scrapper 8, 9 is attached to each heating drum 1, 2 in the area of the lowermost end thereof, said scraper 8, 9 extend preferably over the entire length of each said drum 1, 2. Optionally, a lubricating device 10, 11 is attached to each said heating drum 1, 2, by means of which lubricating means, such as oil for instance, for preventing adhesion of the paste with the surface of he heating drum, is dispensed over the outer surface of each heating drum 1, 2. In order to ensure a proper temperature of said heating drums, a temperature meter 13, 14, such as a contactless thermometer for example, is provided for each of said heating drums, said thermometers control via a control device 15 the drums rotation, paste baking, and cutting or another device for final shaping of the product.

Furthermore, it is provided for according to the present invention, that a conveyor 16 is arranged in the area under the second heating drum 2, in the given case under the lower drum, the baked paste being deposited onto said conveyor 16 and transported away from the heating drums 1, 2. In addition, a device for cutting baked paste running off said second heating drum 2, or a storage box 17 for storing said baked paste, is arranged in a prolongation of said conveyor 16.

Operation of the apparatus for uninterrupted heat treatment of paste according to the invention is provided on the basis of uninterrupted flow of relatively liquid paste from said container 3 by means of said pump 4 which transports said paste into said dispensing tank 6. By means of the latter, said paste is evenly dispensed over the entire length of said upper heating drum 1, whereas it is preferably provided for, according tot he present invention, that the paste continuously flows onto said upper heating drum 1 in the area before the uppermost point A of said drum. Said upper heating drum 1 rotates with such a speed that said paste to be baked, is baked well enough when said heating drum 1 rotates for approximately a half a turn. Said scrapper 8 is arranged in the area of the lowermost point B of said heating drum 1, which scrapes off the heating drum 1 the paste baked on the first side, said paste drops afterwards in the area of the uppermost point C onto said lower heating drum 2. Thus, the paste is baked on the second side, so that it is fully baked when said lower heating drum 2 rotates for approximately a half a turn. Said scrapper 9 is arranged in the area of the lowermost point D of said lower heating drum 2, which scrapes a fully baked paste off the heating drum 2, said paste drops onto said conveyor 16 arranged in the area directly below said heating drum 2. Afterwards, said fully baked paste in the form of a continuous belt is cut or optionally rolled up and stored in sad box 17.
