Title:
PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING CYCLIC INULO-OLIGOSACCHARIDE AND FOR PRODUCING ENZYME THAT PRODUCES THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1994/010295
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A cyclic inulo-oligosaccharide is produced by culturing a microbe capable of producing an enzyme that produces the oligosaccharide in a medium containing inulin and 0.01-1.0 % of an organic nitrogen source and reacting inulin with the produced cells, which have been optionally treated, or the supernatant of the medium. The cyclic inulo-oligosaccharide is purified by contacting the sugar liquor containing the oligosaccharide thus produced with a siloxane-type silica carrier to selectively adsorb only the oligosaccharide and eluting the adsorbed oligosaccharide with an aqueous alcohol solution.
