Abstract:
Processes facilitating the production of multi-ply laminates comprising many thin films united with each other, the many thin films being made respectively of different kinds of high-molecular-weight polymers. According to one of the processes, a multi-ply laminate is produced by repeating a procedure which comprises cutting a laminar flow comprising at least two layers laminated with each other in the lengthwise direction crossing the lamination plane, twisting each of the resulting cuts of the laminar flow on a lengthwise axis of rotation, and laminating the cuts with each other. According to another process, a multi-ply laminate is produced by repeating a procedure which comprises bending a laminar flow comprising at least two layers laminated with each other in such a way as to give a wavelike section, folding up the resulting wavelike laminar flow, and laminating the resulting folded laminar flow. The multi-ply laminates thus produced exhibit unique characteristics resulting from the combination of various characteristics of the layers, thus being usable in various fields.
