Title:
PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION OF CATALYST MICROPARTICLES, CATALYST MICROPARTICLES SUPPORTED ON CARBON, CATALYST MIX AND ELECTRODE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/105107
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are: a process for producing catalyst microparticles which do not undergo the deterioration in performance during operation particularly under high temperature conditions when used in a fuel cell or the like; a process for producing catalyst microparticles supported on carbon; a process for producing a catalyst mix; and a process for producing an electrode. A process for producing catalyst microparticles each comprising a palladium-containing center particle and an outermost layer that contains platinum and covers the center particle, wherein the process is characterized by comprising: a step of preparing palladium-containing particles; a step of preparing an acid solution that can dissolve palladium preferentially rather than platinum; a step of covering the palladium-containing particle with the platinum-containing outermost layer; and a step of bringing the palladium-containing particle that has been covered with the outermost layer into contact with the acid solution.
