Abstract:
A technique is provided which, from three-dimensional tomographic brightness data of a finger, can accurately and quickly extract a fingerprint image that has high authentication accuracy. This processing device is provided with: a means which, from three-dimensional tomographic brightness data, performs edge detection processing on tomographic images of each depth (101, 102, …, 10k, …, 10n), and thereafter calculates the total number of edge pixels in the tomographic images and acquires the depth dependence (111, 112) of the edge numbers; and a means for extracting a tomographic image (120, 121) with a striped fingerprint pattern on the basis of the aforementioned depth dependency of the edge numbers and the aforementioned three-dimensional tomographic brightness data.
