Provided is a processing device that has a collet chuck (50), a head (20) containing a hollow part (21) into which the collet chuck is inserted, and a sleeve (30) that opens and closes the tip of the collet chuck. The collet chuck has a rear end (58), a cylindrical first outer surface (57), and a concavity (55) where a ring-shaped section of the first outer surface is recessed. The rear-end side of said concavity forms a first tapered surface (56). The abovementioned head contains a first base surface (28) against which the rear end of the collet chuck abuts, a cylindrical first inner surface (24) that makes contact with the first outer surface of the collet chuck, and a plurality of through-holes extending radially from the first inner surface of the head toward the outer surface thereof. When a plurality of rod-shaped members (42) each provided with a second tapered surface (46) are inserted, respectively, into the plurality of through-holes, the second tapered surfaces thereof about against the first tapered surface of the concavity in the collet chuck, making the rear end of the collet chuck abut against the abovementioned first base surface and holding the collet chuck inside the head.
