Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for collectively treating food waste and packaging, even when the food waste is wrapped in packaging that is made of a synthetic resin or the like, so as to process the food waste into a methane fermentation raw material that can undergo methane fermentation by methanogens, and to provide a methane fermentation raw material that is derived from food waste and that is produced by means of said method. [Solution] A method for processing food waste into a methane fermentation raw material that can undergo methane fermentation by methanogens, wherein the food waste and the packaging thereof, which includes at least synthetic resin packaging, are used as an object to be treated, and the object to be treated is mixed with a regulating agent that regulates at least water content, is stirred and undergoes subcritical water treatment by a subcritical water treatment device, and is processed into a methane fermentation raw material.
