Abstract:
This processing method is executed by a processor in order to perform processing relating to drive control of a host vehicle. The processing method includes: acquiring detection information in which a state detected in a traveling environment of the host vehicle is described (S100); setting a safety envelope so as to include definition of physical-based boundary, margin or buffer area around the host vehicle (S102); and monitoring violation of the safety envelope on the basis of a comparison between the safety envelope and a positional relationship between the host vehicle and a target vehicle (S103). The safety envelope when the target vehicle is a proceeding vehicle and the host vehicle is a following vehicle is calculated on the basis of the velocity and the maximum deceleration of the proceeding vehicle, and the velocity, a maximum acceleration, and a minimum deceleration of the following vehicle. The minimum deceleration of the following vehicle is set not greater than the maximum deceleration of the proceeding vehicle.
