Provided by the present invention are a product category recognition system and lighting fixtures, the product category recognition system being used for recognizing the categories of lighting fixtures in a lighting system, and the product category recognition system comprising: a power supply motherboard provided in each lighting fixture and a dimming control board that is electrically connected to the power supply motherboard; the power supply motherboard comprises a product model identifying circuit, and the power supply motherboard is configured such that, after the dimming control board accesses the power supply motherboard, a voltage detection signal is transmitted to the dimming control board by means of the product model identifying circuit; the dimming control board is configured to receive the voltage detection signal transmitted by the power supply motherboard, and recognize, according to the voltage detection signal, a category of the lighting fixtures to which the power supply motherboard belongs. The product category recognition system provided by the embodiments of the present invention may rapidly distinguish and recognize the categories of lighting fixtures in a lighting system, and then effectively regulate configuration information of each lighting fixture.
