Abstract:
This production device for an optical element O produces an optical element O comprising two spherical segments and a circular column section by press-forming a heat-softened molding material M with an upper die 2 and a lower die 3, the device comprising: a measuring unit for measuring the diameter or the mass of the molding material M; a calculation unit 41 for calculating, on the basis of the diameter or the mass of the molding material M measured by the measuring unit, the target thickness of the optical element O; and a control unit 42 for controlling the inter-die distance between the upper die 2 and the lower die 3 during press-forming so as to yield the target thickness of the optical element O calculated by the calculation unit 41.
