Abstract:
A method of obtaining a fibrous ingredient by treating a lignocellulosic material with a microorganism while preventing cellulose and/or hemicellulose, which are major components of paper, from being decomposed by microorganism-produced cellulases and/or hemicellulases. The method, which is for taking a fibrous ingredient out of a lignocellulosic material to produce a useful substance, comprises bringing a microorganism which has been inhibited from producing cellulases and/or hemicellulases and has the ability to decompose lignins into contact with the lignocellulosic material and obtaining a fibrous ingredient from the material.
