Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for easily and economically producing 1,1-dichloro-2,3,3,3-tetra-fluoropropene (CFO-1214ya) that does not require the purification of a raw material component that has been prepared as an isomer mixture, i.e 1,1-dichloro-2,2,3,3,3 -pentafluoropropane (HCFC-225ca) from dichloropenta-fluoropropane (HCFC-225) which contains HCFC-225ca. Also disclosed is a method for easily and economically producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) from 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HCFC-244eb). CFO-1214ya is produced from HCFC-225ca and HFO-1234yf is produced from HCFC-224eb, by bringing a raw material composition that includes HCFC-244eb and HCFC-225, which contains HCFC-225ca, into contact with an aqueous alkali solution in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst.
