Abstract:
This production method for a plate glass comprises a transport step for transporting a plate glass G in a predetermined transport direction. In the transport step, when the plate glass G is moved from a first waiting position WP1 to a processing position CP, a portion of a transport belt 6 is moved upward by a lifting/lowering device 8. In addition, in the transport step, when processing an end surface of the plate glass G by an end surface processing device 3, the portion of the transport belt 6 moved upward is moved to a position lower than the processing position CP by the lifting/lowering device 8. After this downward movement, while the end surface of the plate glass G positioned at the processing position CP is being processed by the end surface processing device 3, another plate glass G is positioned at the first waiting position WP1 by moving the transport belt 6. As a result, plate glass can be efficiently transported at the time of processing the end surfaces of the plate glass, and therefore, takt time can be reduced, resulting in an improvement in manufacturing efficiency.
