Abstract:
Provided is a production method for an aqueous resin composition for an anti-rust coating, comprising steps of: heating an aqueous resin composition containing a carboxyl group-containing aqueous resin to a temperature not lower than 50ºC and less than the melting point of the aqueous resin; adding an epoxy silane coupling agent and/or a hydrolytic condensate thereof to the heated aqueous resin composition to cause a reaction; and cooling the aqueous resin composition to a temperature less than 50ºC after the reaction, then adding a water-dispersible silica. Also provided is an aqueous resin composition for an anti-rust coating produced by means of the production method. Further provided are an anti-rust treatment method using the aqueous resin composition for an anti-rust coating and an anti-rust-treated metal material subjected to the anti-rust treatment.
