Abstract:
Provided is a production method which is for a friction torque limiter and which makes it possible to combine a plurality of spring members (6) with an inner ring (4) with ease and without breaking elastic pieces (14) of the spring members (6). In the present invention, a locking means is provided with: locking protrusions (18) that protrude radially outward from the outer circumferential surfaces of bases (12) of the spring members (6); and to-be-locked protrusions (26) that protrude radially inward from the inner circumferential surface of an outer ring (8). The base ends of the elastic pieces (14) are brought into contact with the inner circumferential surfaces of the bases (12) of the spring members (6). Before the spring members (6) are combined with the outer ring (8), the bases (12) are pressed in the axial direction and press-fitted into the inner ring (4). Alternatively, in a press fitting step for sequentially press-fitting the plurality of spring members (6) one by one into the inner ring (4) before combining said spring members (6) with the outer ring (8), the press-fit amounts of the respective spring members (6) with respect to the inner ring (4) are reduced gradually.
