Abstract:
Provided are a production method for lower olefin, a production device for lower olefin, a construction method for lower olefin production equipment, and a zeolite catalyst, whereby production ratios of ethylene and propylene can be easily changed and equipment cost can be reduced, when producing ethylene and propylene from a light paraffin-based hydrocarbon starting material such as light naptha. The production method has: a catalytic cracking reaction step S21 in which ethylene and propylene are generated from a light paraffin-based hydrocarbon starting material by a catalytic cracking reaction using a zeolite catalyst; and a steam cracking step S13 in which ethylene and propylene are produced from a light paraffin-based hydrocarbon starting material by steam cracking.
