Title:
PRODUCTION METHOD FOR POLYARYLENE SULFIDE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/167782
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a method which is for producing a polyarylene sulfide (hereinafter referred to as "PAS") and in which foaming in a dehydration process can be inhibited, and the use of a high-cost material having high corrosion resistance such as Ti or Zr is not required. The production method for a PAS according to the present invention produces the PAS by polymerizing a sulfur source and a polyhaloaromatic compound in an organic polar solvent, and comprises: a homogenization step for subjecting an undehydrated sulfur source-containing mixture containing a sulfur source, an alkali metal hydroxide, an organic polar solvent, and water to heating at a temperature not lower than 25°C but not higher than the boiling point of the undehydrated sulfur source-containing mixture, and thereby homogenizing and transforming the undehydrated sulfur source-containing mixture from a non-homogeneous system in which there is a phase separation between an organic phase and an aqueous phase into a homogeneous system in which the phase separation between the organic phase and the aqueous phase has been resolved; and a dehydration step for dehydrating the undehydrated sulfur source-containing mixture to obtain a dehydrated sulfur source-containing mixture, wherein the dehydration step is performed after the homogenization step.
