Abstract:
The present invention provides: a polyether diol that makes it possible to obtain a polyurethane resin that has excellent water resistance and oleic acid resistance; a production method for the polyether diol; a production method for a urethane prepolymer that makes it possible to obtain a polyurethane resin that has excellent water resistance and oleic acid resistance; and a production method for a polyurethane resin that has excellent water resistance and oleic acid resistance. This production method for a polyether diol involves addition polymerization of a cyclic ether onto a polytetramethylene ether glycol derived from biomass in the presence of a double metal cyanide complex catalyst that has an organic ligand to obtain a polyether diol that has a biomass% of 10%–80%. This polyether diol has a biomass% of 10%–80% and includes a polyoxyalkylene chain and a polytetramethylene ether glycol chain that has a plurality of units represented by formula u1. Formula u1: -(CH2CH2CH2CH2O)-.
