Abstract:
A production method of sulfur-modified polyacrylonitrile is provided which involves a step (1) for heating polyacrylonitrile and sulfur inside of a rotary heating container provided with a discharge tube and a sulfur vapor recovery unit while rotating said rotary heating container; a step (2) for liquefying sulfur vapor with the sulfur vapor recovery unit while discharging hydrogen sulfide generated in the aforementioned heating step; and a step (3) for returning the liquefied sulfur to the mixture of sulfur and polyacrylonitrile in step (1).
