Title:
PRODUCTION METHOD FOR SURFACE-MODIFIED INORGANIC OXIDE MICROPARTICLES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/123111
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are: surface-modified inorganic oxide microparticles which are modified so as to be water-dispersible while maintaining other properties of the inorganic oxide microparticles such as transparency, resistance to weather and discoloration, and UV ray blocking properties; a production method for the surface-modified inorganic oxide microparticles; and a sunscreen cosmetic that contains the surface-modified inorganic oxide microparticles. The surface-modified inorganic oxide microparticles according to the present invention are obtained by modifying the surfaces of inorganic oxide microparticles having an average particle size of 200 nm or smaller with groups that contain a polyglycerol. Preferably, the inorganic oxide is titanium oxide, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide or zinc oxide.
