Abstract:
A production process for a radial tire steel cord having a 2+7×d structure. The production process uses an inner take-up and outer take-up combined integrated double twister. Core wire monofilaments (1, 2) are first twisted in a core machine (3) into a core strand (20), and then the core strand (20) directly enters a gathering device (4). Surface wire monofilaments (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) enter the gathering device (4) after passing through a branching device (12), and are twisted with the core strand (20) by a main machine (13) to form a 2+7×d cord. The process achieves the one-step forming of a steel core, improves the production efficiency, and reduces the waste and the costs. The core strand and the outer layer surface wire monofilaments are twisted in a same machine tool, such that the quality of a product can be ensured.
