Abstract:
A program analyzing technique is provided to reasonably give a maintenance priority to
a program. A program analyzing method includes the steps of: analyzing a correlation between
a plurality of characteristic values including a characteristic of cost and
the number of accumulated fault occurrences for each program; calculating an
estimate value of fault occurrence for each program from the analyzed result and
a plurality of the characteristic values on the cost; calculating a potential risk
for each program from the number of the accumulated fault occurrences, the estimate
value of the fault occurrence, and the degree of assumed damage per fault; and
selecting a program to cope with the fault based on a value of the potential risk.
In this way, a program to be subjected to maintenance can become specified in
accordance with the potential risk.
