Abstract:
A system according to one aspect of the present disclosure relates to a program update system comprising a plurality of control devices mounted in a vehicle and a gateway capable of in-vehicle communication with the plurality of control devices. The gateway is provided with: a communication unit which receives update programs for the plurality of control devices from a device outside the vehicle; a storage unit which stores the received update programs; an in-vehicle communication unit which transmits the stored update programs to corresponding ones of the control devices; and a processing unit which prioritizes storage of first programs, defined below, in the storage unit, relative to storage of second programs, defined below, in the storage unit.
First programs: update programs for a plurality of control devices that need to be updated simultaneously
Second programs: update programs for control devices that need not be simultaneously updated
