Abstract:
This invention relates to a program update system that includes multiple control devices mounted in a vehicle, and a gateway which is connected so as to be capable of in-vehicle communication with the multiple control devices. The gateway is provided with: a wireless communication unit which wirelessly receives update programs for the multiple control devices; a storage unit which stores the multiple received update programs; an in-vehicle communication unit which transmits the multiple stored update programs to the corresponding control devices; and a processing unit which, in the case that the total amount of data of the multiple update programs exceeds the memory capacity of the storage unit, implements sequential receiving of the update programs in accordance with the communication status of wireless communication.
