Abstract:

Provided is a programmable controller, comprising: a storage unit to be backed up which stores data or a program which is used in the control of a machine; a backup storage unit which stores a backup of the data or the program; a state monitoring unit which monitors a value which represents the state of hardware to be monitored, and assesses whether the value has reached a predetermined threshold; and a backup processing unit which, if it has been assessed by the state monitoring unit that the value has reached the threshold, reads the data or the program from the storage unit to be backed up and writes same to the backup storage unit, backing up said data or program.
