Abstract:
In order to obviate the need to provide an upper-level computer (100) with a dedicated setup software and in order to reduce processing time, a programmable display device (200) is provided with: an interface unit (250) connected to an upper-level computer (100), the interface unit (250) receiving a text file (122) that contains a description of a processing request to a control instrument (300); a decoding unit (212) for decoding the request described in the text file (122) received by the interface unit (250); and an integrated processor (211) for executing an information exchange with the control instrument (300) a plurality of times to perform the requested processing, and transmitting the execution result through the interface unit (250) to the upper-level computer (100), on the basis of the decoding result from the decoding unit (212).
