Abstract:
This progression prediction device, method, and program enable the prediction of symptom prognosis for a medical image that serves as a subject of diagnosis. A processor derives a degree of similarity between a subject image and a plurality of reference images by referring to a database in which the plurality of reference images are stored and interpretation results for abnormal shadows included respectively in the plurality of reference images are associated respectively with the plurality of reference images and stored. The processor analyzes interpretation results pertaining to a similar reference image, said similar reference image being the similar reference image among the plurality of reference images that has a degree of similarity that is at least a predetermined threshold, and thereby derives progression information for the abnormal shadow included in the similar reference image. The processor statistically analyzes the progression information, thereby deriving prediction information for predicting the progression going forward for the abnormal shadow included in the subject image.
