Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a projecting device with which it is possible to prevent dust adhering to members inside a housing, and a method for controlling the same. A projector (100) is provided with: a housing (10) having an intake port (10A) and an exhaust port (10B); a static eliminator (6) for destaticizing air taken into the housing (10) from the intake port (10A); a cooled member (optical modulating element (3), light source 21) cooled by the air taken into the housing (10); and a system control unit (5) which detects a difference between an internal pressure, which is the pressure inside the housing (10), and an external pressure, which is the pressure outside the housing (10), and controls a destaticizing output of the static eliminator (6) on the basis of said difference.
