Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to effectively utilize displayable pixel regions in a display device. This projection apparatus is provided with: a projection unit including a display element in which pixel lines oriented in a first direction are arrayed in a second direction, said projection unit also including an optical system for projecting the light from the display element; a first correction unit which corrects scale reduction in each piece of line data in image data, said line data corresponding to each pixel line, in accordance with the position of each pixel line in the display element in the second direction, and a second-direction component of projection-unit tilt in the projection direction with respect to a normal line of the projection surface; a second correction unit which corrects scale reduction in the second direction in each piece of pixel data in the image data corrected by the first correction unit, in accordance with the position of each pixel in the display element in the second direction, and the second-direction component of tilt in the projection direction; and an image extraction unit which extracts, from among the image data corrected by the second correction unit, the image data for an area to be projected from the projection unit, and inputs said image data into the projection unit.
