Abstract:
A projection apparatus for projecting an image that can be seen stereoscopically, wherein the apparatus is made smaller and the definition of the projected image is higher than when this configuration is not provided. The projection apparatus projects an image that can be seen stereoscopically by scanning a laser beam having one set of colors comprising at least red, green, and blue, wherein the apparatus has: a light-source unit for emitting the laser beam; a scanning unit for two-dimensionally scanning a projection region using the laser beam; and a microlens array composed of a plurality of microlenses upon which the laser beam scanned using the scanning unit is incident, said array varying the emission angle of the laser beam according to the position on the microlenses upon which the beam is incident, and creating a state in which a light-ray field is emitted, the position and direction of the light rays from the points on the surfaces of the microlenses being controlled in accordance with the projected image.
