Abstract:

This projection device is provided with: a storage unit which stores at least a pattern image for detecting a distortion according to the surface state of a projection surface, an expected image which corresponds to a displayed image when the pattern image is displayed on a plane, and a desired projection image, in order to display an image as if the image is displayed on a plane, even if the projection surface has a complex unevenness; a projection unit which projects, on the projection surface, images including the pattern image and the desired projection image; an image acquisition unit which acquires the displayed image of the pattern image displayed on the projection surface and extracts a distortion image; a distortion amount calculating unit which compares the expected image and the distortion image and thereby calculates a distortion parameter pertaining to distortion of the projection surface; a distortion correction processing unit which corrects, by using the distortion parameter, the desired projection image to be projected on the projection surface; and an image output unit which outputs, to the projection unit, image data including the pattern image and the desired projection image having been corrected by the distortion correction processing unit.
