Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a projection device and a projection method capable of projecting an image for projection while uniformly suppressing the blurring of the projected image by using an afterimage effect with respect to a projection target with irregularities greater than the focal depth of a projection lens. A projection device (20) comprises: a light source (44); a projection image generation unit (50); a projection lens (46) that projects an image for projection generated by the projection image generation unit (50) onto a projection target having irregularities, the projection lens having a defocusing optical transfer function that has two or more local maximum values at a prescribed frequency with the second largest local maximum value being at least 0.5 times greater than the first largest local maximum value A; a vibration mechanism (52) for vibrating the projection lens (46) along an optical axis T; and a control unit (41) for controlling the amplitude and the frequency of the vibration mechanism (52).
