Abstract:
In order to improve the contrast of a target image to be projected using a phase modulation-type spatial modulation element and prevent unnecessary light from being projected, a projection device is provided with: a projection means which comprises a light source, a spatial modulation element that has a display unit for displaying a phase distribution for a target image and reflects light from the light source, and an open frame through which reflected light from the spatial modulation element passes; and a control means which causes the display unit of the spatial modulation element to display a phase distribution generated by performing iterative Fourier transform processing using an amplitude distribution in which a signal region where a basic figure included in the target image is disposed, and a sweep-out region for sweeping optical noise out of the signal region are set.
