Title:
PROJECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/061803
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent speckles from standing out on the projection screen regardless of gradation values. [Solution] A projection device (20) is provided with an optical element (50) capable of diffusing coherent light, an irradiation device (20) which irradiates coherent light onto an optical element to scan the optical element with said coherent light, an optical modulator (30) which generates a modulated image using the coherent light incident from the irradiation device on each position of the optical element and diffused, and a projection optical system (25) which projects onto a diffusion surface the modulated image generated in the optical modulator. The optical modulator (30) has multiple micromirrors which are provided for each pixel and which change the reflection angle of the coherent light from the optical element, and a reflection angle control unit (31) which performs control such that the timing at which the reflection angle of the micromirrors is switched becomes irregular for each frame.
