Abstract:
A projection device (100) is provided with: a light source (1); a light guide element (2) in which light incident on an incident surface (21) is emitted from an emission surface (22); an image forming unit (3) in which the light emitted from the emission surface is applied to an image (7); and an image projecting unit (4) which projects the image (7). Side surfaces (23) include a first side surface (23a) and a second side surface (23b) which are opposedly disposed. The first side surface (23a) is curved into a convex shape in a direction from the incident surface (21) to the emission surface (22). The second side surface (23b) is curved into a concave shape in the direction from the incident surface (21) to the emission surface (22). Regarding light reflected by the second side surface (23b) after being reflected by the first side surface (23a) or light reflected by the second side surface (23b), the light amount of the light emitted from a region on the second side surface (23b) side of the emission surface (22) is greater than the light amount of the light emitted from a region on the first side surface (23a) side.
