Abstract:
A projection distance measurement method and a projection distance measurement device are provided as a prerequisite for correctly setting the projection distance of a virtual image. In this projection distance measurement method: a projection image (virtual image) IM is displayed through a display screen 20 by a head-up display device 200; a distance measurement camera (image acquisition unit) 51 is disposed so as to photograph a display field of view in a state in which a target 81 is disposed at a prescribed position within the display field of view; and the distance measurement camera 51 is moved while a measurement display image FM is displayed by the head-up display device 200 so as to overlap with the target 81, and the projection distance of the virtual image projected by the head-up display device 200 is measured from the degree of positional displacement between the target 81 obtained by photographing the display field of view and the measurement display image FM.
