Provided is a projection image displaying device that is easy to transport or post even if the display screen is scaled up in size, and that is also environmentally-friendly in that the energy required for transportation and carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced. The projection image displaying device magnifies and projects imaging light projected from an image projection unit, which projects an image displayed on an image displaying screen as imaging light, onto the back surface of a transmission screen. The image projecting unit comprises a skewed projection optical system, and the transmission screen (1) and a flat surface mirror (29) horizontally together, and each independently, are further provided so as to be vertically secured onto a cabinet portion (C) that includes a side board (17). Foldable back covers (30,31) are detachably attached onto the back surface side of the transmission screen so as to cover the back surface of the flat surface mirror.
