Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of implementing a new projection optical system that causes an image of an image-forming light flux from an original image on a reduction-side conjugate plane to be formed as one or more intermediate images on a light path leading to an enlargement-side conjugate plane and thereafter formed as an enlarged image on the enlargement-side conjugate plane. A first optical group G1 of a projection optical system comprises a first lens group, and a reflection optical means RFD having a reflection surface for reflecting an image-forming light flux toward a second optical group G2, wherein at least part of the first lens group is shared between an incident image-forming light flux going to the reflection surface and a reflective image-forming light flux reflected by the reflection surface and going to the second optical group G2, and a third optical group G3 has a concave mirror located on the enlargement side of one or more intermediate images.
