Abstract:
Provided is a head-up display device which is capable of simultaneously displaying virtual images in different viewing directions and at different virtual image distances. This head-up display device (30) includes: an image formation unit (10) which emits light including image information; and a projection optical system including an eyepiece optical system (5) which displays a virtual image by reflecting the light emitted from the image formation unit (10). The eyepiece optical system (5) includes spherical lenses (52) (53), a free-form-surface lens (54), a reflection mirror (55), and a free-form-surface mirror (56), and is configured by arranging, in an eyepiece optical system-side space in a plane conjugate with the virtual image plane of the eyepiece optical system (5), and side by side along the conjugate plane, a first small lens system (511, 512, 513) which achieves first focal-point-position movement, and has, incident thereon, separated light from the image formation unit (10), and a second small lens system (514) which achieves second focal-point-position movement shorter than the first focal-point-position movement, and has, incident thereon, separated light from the image formation unit (10).
