Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce the size of a head-up display device while ensuring telecentricity. This projection optical system includes an eyepiece optical system (5) that refracts and reflects light emitted from an image formation unit for forming image information, thereby displaying a virtual image. The eyepiece optical system (5) has disposed therein at least a concave lens (52), a fold mirror (53), and a concave mirror (54), in the stated order from the image formation unit (10) to which a liquid crystal display panel (2) is provided. This projection optical system (5) is provided to a head-up display device.
